Welcome to the website for Newlands Christian Assembly which meets at 126 Newlands Road, Newlands, Wellington.
Please refer to our Weekly Programme for times of our regular services and for contact numbers for phone enquiries.
Our Sunday Services
This service is a time for worship and remembrance of the Lord Jesus Christ as the one who died for us and rose again. It provides an opportunity for believers to express in hymns, prayers and Bible readings, their appreciation of the Lord Jesus Christ and God the Father. There is no minister or pastor to lead this meeting. The men of the church express the thanksgiving and worship of all those present, as led by the Holy Spirit. Central to this service is the Lord’s Supper, or Breaking of Bread, or Communion, as it is variously described. The bread and wine are shared amongst Christians who regularly meet here, and also with visitors who follow the Lord. Participation in this service is a privilege for all true believers in the Lord Jesus Christ whose Christian testimony is known to us.
Bible Teaching and Sunday School
If you are new to church, or haven’t attended for some time, this service would be a good place to start. Every week we take the opportunity to learn more from the Bible. The service begins with some singing and is followed by Bible teaching. A Sunday School for the children is run concurrently with the Bible teaching service. Whether you are on your own, or with your family and friends, you are most welcome to attend this meeting. We invite you to join us for morning tea beforehand, or the lunch we provide afterwards. (Covid-19 Pandemic regulations apply.)

What we believe
We do not have a creed, but we certainly love the Scriptures and believe
- That the Bible is the inspired Word of God in which God has revealed His mind to people. 2 Timothy 3:16
- In the deity and perfect spotless humanity of the Lord Jesus Christ, and in His substitutionary death, bodily resurrection and ascension. John 1:1 and 1 Timothy 3:16
- In salvation by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and not by any merit of our own. Ephesians 2:9
- In the eternal blessedness of those that accept God’s salvation, and the eternal punishment of those whose name is not in the Book of Life. Matthew 25:46, Revelation 20:15
- In the imminent return of Christ for those that have been saved through faith in Him. 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17
